The Rugeley ringers are sad to have to announce the death of one of our old ringers Harry Thornton who passed away in Stafford hospital on Thursday 21st January. Harry joined the society in 1982 and was a faithful Sunday service ringer right up until last the couple of years when increasing frailty prevented him from managing stairs anymore. Harry was a member of The Landor society, the Rugeley local history group and was very knowledgeable about the local history of the town, including researching the history of the bells and church. Harry was a lovely man and will be greatly missed

May he rest in peace
