The competition for the Lichfield Diocesan Shield is held between the Lichfield and Walsall, Shropshire and North Staffordshire ringing associations of the diocese, each entering a six and eight bell band. The six bell teams rang on the front six of the Stoke Minster ten and the eight bell teams rang on the back eight.

The six bell bands rang first: Team 1 North staffs achieved 26 faults. Team 2 Lichfield with 35 faults and team 3 Shropshire Association with 45 faults.8 bell band

1st Place Lichfield & Walsall combined faults 58
2nd Place Shropshire Association with 73 faults
3rd place North Staffs with 74 Faults.

The Judge was Mr Bernard Taylor.

The Lichfield & Walsall Bands were as follows.

The six bell band, ringers were, Geoff Pick, Linda Pick, Martin Hardeman, Margaret Warford, Derek Giddins (C) and Jordan Lawley.

The eight bell band ringers were, Anne Ogden, Andrew Ogden, Stuart Hutchieson (C) Liz Hutchieson, Dawn Grundy, Michael Platt, Jean Nixon and Jonathan Townsend.

I would like to thank all our ringers for taking part and given that neither of our bands had practiced as a band together before the event, makes the win even more sweet.
