The Lichfield Diocesan Mobile Belfry (LMDB) is a mobile, mini ring of 6 bells loaned to the Lichfield Diocese by the Whitechapel bell foundry in 1998. The bells are mounted on a trailer and can be assembled in a couple of hours, being used regularly in the Lichfield Diocese and beyond to promote ringing at a variety of events.

The LDMB is registered as a Charitable Trust, which is jointly administered by Trustees elected by the three ringing associations within the Lichfield Diocese:

Lichfield & Walsall Archdeaconries Society of Change Ringers.
The North Staffordshire Association of Change Ringers.
Shropshire Association of Church Bellringers.

If you’d like to find out more about the mobile belfry and how to book the bells for an event, please visit the LMDB website. The Trustees of the belfry are also always on the lookout for new volunteers to help transport and assemble the bells at events – if you’d like to support the work of the belfry in this way, please get in touch.
