The purpose of the library is to safely store and maintain a collection of books, leaflets, photographs and other material, either donated, bequeathed or bought by the Society, for members to borrow or use for reference purposes.

The material is stored in the ringing chamber of Lichfield Cathedral and is the responsibility of a librarian, appointed by the Society committee.

Using the library

The collection contains two types of material:

  • Items that can be borrowed for a fixed period (usually four weeks)

  • Reference items that can be used in the ringing chamber of the Cathedral, by arrangement with the librarian.

Donations of suitable material on bells or ringing, particularly regarding local towers and ringers, will be gratefully received. Please contact the Secretary, if you would like to donate an item.
